ICSE schools seem to be better for personality development as well. You will be studying a far more comprehensive course compared to all other boards. The standard of English and humanities is superbly higher than the CBSE and other state boards and the same is true for other languages and commerce subjects.
ICSE Syllabus is tougher when compared to CBSE because of the detailed study of all the subjects of ICSE Board. But ICSE Syllabus provides more practical knowledge and it aims to build analytical skills in students. This board has an advantage for the students who will be appearing in TOEFL Exam.
The content of the syllabus is topically wide and in-depth for the better understanding of students. While it is said that a CBSE education focuses more on Math and Science, with a greater goal to enable students for various entrance exams, an ICSE education does that and more. Besides focusing on concepts in Math and Science, ICSE also offers an equal weightage to languages, arts and humanities. This allows for a more balanced, wholesome and inclusive education.
The syllabus is comprehensive and structured to provide more practical knowledge and helps to build analytical skills in students. ICSE exercises only English as a medium of instruction in class and also emphasizes more on the subject English. It gives more importance to all fields and a child’s overall development. It is recognized all over the world, particularly by foreign schools and universities in comparison to CBSE. Many top international schools in Gurgaon have ICSE curriculum.
Children who study the ICSE curriculum have an edge over English language as compared to CBSE students as the . Students who want to make a career in the fields of medical, management and humanities will find the ICSE curriculum fun and challenging.
India today has many schools, colleges and universities that have a tie-up with many foreign colleges and universities and students with ICSE curriculum make it easily to these foreign universities. The ICSE curriculum focuses on concepts and has a well-structured syllabus. Students of ICSE have an edge over CBSE students in terms of personality and intelligence.
The school and curriculum play a major role in building smart, confident and aware individuals that can contribute to society. Other than education , even in the school activites like sports they go to the state and national level in all types of sports.
The infrastructure and an atmosphere of ICSE which makes students confident, increases their quest for knowledge and prepares them to appear for Board Exams, use their potential to the fullest and achieve success.
CBSE syllabus emphasizes a skill-based syllabus. The focus is very high on skill development and not just content. It aims in getting children to know what to do with content as content is easily available everywhere.
CBSE conducts the Grade XII exam and the All India Engineering and Medical Entrance exams. These exams are based on NCERT text books (Grades 9 to 12) which are recommended by CBSE. The competitive exams like IAS /IFS and other governmental exams are also based on NCERT textbooks.
The syllabus had a focus on co-scholastic skills till Grade 10. Life skills and value based education is at the core.At Grade 11 they offer various subjects like Entrepreneurship, Business studies, Creative writing skills etc..
Its syllabus is lesser and allowed students to require part in extracurricular activities.
It mainly emphasizes on science and maths. meaning less pressure of studies for languages and civics.
No board is better: It depends on the aptitude of the student. The CBSE board, however with its exam reforms is moving to a more international approach in its examination patterns and marking schemes. The board is giving a 40% weightage to formatives in every subject which IGCSE don t offer.
I prefer ICSE board
